OPINION: Bama/Georgia Referees Either Incompetent Or On The Take
I don’t usually blame the officials for my college football team's loss. I was raised that way by my late pop, a Hall of Fame football coach.
But Saturday’s Alabama/Georgia game was an overwhelming case of either total incompetence or somebody got paid.
No one could be as incompetent as this crew, so I can only conclude they, and their equally corrupt replay officials, are on the take.
They blew the call by disallowing a clear Bama interception.
They also did not call a clear targeting penalty against Georgia.
The most egregious incident came late in the game. A pass interference call in the end zone against Georgia went uncalled.
They ignored a facemask penalty against Georgia.
These moron refs should be banned from ever working another game. That includes college, high school, or pee-wee.
If these referees are taking bribes, then send them to jail.
The Bama/Georgia officiating crew should never be allowed to cheat kids out of a game as they did to my team Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.
Stevie Wonder could have done a better job.
Finally, it was great seeing Bama Coach Kalen DeBoer angry and visibly pissed by what we all witnessed. Coach expressed what we were all thinking.
We live to fight another day. That day is October 17th, when Bama travels to Tennessee. And the wearing of that ugly Tennessee orange color is forbidden in Tuscaloosa all week long.
