Alabama Under Marginal Risk for Severe Storms
As a cold front moves through our region, Alabamians statewide can expect widespread thunderstorms.
Locations for Severe Storms
The Storm Prediction Center has almost the entire state under a marginal risk, which is a level 1 out of 5 for strong to severe storms.
Threats You Should Know About
The National Weather Service in Birmingham advised residents to be aware of damaging winds of up to 60 mph.
Also, the storms could pack a punch with the “heavier storms will be capable of producing strong wind gusts, heavy rain, lots of lightning, and possibly some small hail,” said James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist.
When to Expect Active Weather
The risk of severe weather will be between 1 p.m. and 11 p.m.
