James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist, said we should “expect the warmest weather so far this year during the first half of the week with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Some South Alabama communities could reach the 80-degree mark by Tuesday.

Severe Weather Outlook

The Townsquare Media Weather Center is currently monitoring the potential for a severe weather pattern or next week. Showers and thunderstorms are anticipated to arrive in Alabama on Wednesday night through early Thursday morning by an advancing cold front.

Risk Areas

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the northern 2/3 of the state in a 15 to 29% probability for severe weather.

“The main upper support and strong wind fields will be well north of Alabama, and instability values look low,” said Spann. Also, he mentioned that the “best chance of severe storms will likely be north and west of Alabama with this event.”
