Free Family Fun Returns With Tuscaloosa’s Tech or Treat Event
A yearly fall tradition returns, as the City of Tuscaloosa is thrilled to usher in the season with free community fun with the ninth annual Tech or Treat. The event will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gateway Innovation and Discovery Center, located at 2614 University Blvd East.
It will be a festive evening filled with technology and treats, as “families will move from table to table collecting candy while discovering elements of STEAM—science, technology, engineering, art, and math,” said the press release.

At every stop along the way, children can dive into fun, hands-on activities while exploring and interacting with city departments and community organizations.
Be sure to save the date, and if your organization would like to participate in this year’s celebration, click here to access the application.
