Women Trailblazers of Alabama – Meet Pam Parker

Dr. Pam Parker brings with her more than three decades of experience in philanthropy and currently lends her expertise as a philanthropic consultant at Philanthropic Partners, LLC.

A proud three-time graduate of The University of Alabama, she devoted 25 years of her career to her alma mater, culminating in her retirement as the Vice President for Advancement in December 2012.

As Vice President, she was responsible for Alumni, Development, and University Relations, spearheading the impactful “Our Students, Our Future” capital campaign. This visionary initiative yielded a remarkable $612 million in crucial support for academic and athletic priorities at The University of Alabama, leaving an enduring legacy of empowerment and advancement for generations to come.

In addition to serving as Vice President, she previously served as the Association Vice President for Advancement, Assistant Vice President for Development, Director of Development for the College of Arts and Sciences, Director of Development for the College of Education, and Director of Events and Scholarships for the National Alumni Association.

Parker offers advice to young women who aspire to make a difference and leave a mark in history. “To be true to themselves, to lead by example and service, and to remember all that came before.”

Also, she is deeply engaged in community service, actively contributing as a board member for the Alabama Network of Family Resource Centers, Community Foundation of West Alabama, and United Way of West Alabama.

Her previous work has included esteemed organizations such as the Junior League of Tuscaloosa, United Cerebral Palsy of Alabama, The American Boychoir, Theatre Tuscaloosa, Junior Achievement, the University Club, and Rotary.

She is married to Ed Parker and has 2 sons and 2 grandchildren.  She is an active member of Christ Episcopal Church.
