You Won’t Believe Which Lake Was Named the Best in Alabama
Summer is here, signaling the start of lake season in Alabama. Can you guess which lake was named "the best"?
The Yellowhammer State is filled with beautiful lakes. “The state has more than 23 freshwater lakes distributed across 20 counties,” said Bass Online.
However, there was one lake that stood out from the rest. It was voted the top pick for Alabama and made the best lake on the United States list by Cheapism.
Lake Martin
Located in East-Central Alabama
Cheapism said, “Residents retreat to this laid-back lake community.” If you plan to visit, they recommend Acapulco Rock, also known as Chimney Rock, a popular cliff-jumping spot and the lake's most famous (and perilous) landmark.
“Lake Martin is a 31-mile-long impoundment located in Coosa, Elmore, and Tallapoosa counties on the Tallapoosa River, near Dadeville and Alexander City,” said the Lake Martin Resource Association.
