Hale County Hospital Gets $250K Boost for New Equipment

Hale County residents will soon have access to additional medical equipment close to home thanks to a $250,000 investment in the community’s hospital.

Hale County Hospital announced it is putting $250,000 received through Alabama’s Rural Hospital Investment Program to work purchasing critical new equipment.

The investment includes a new CT scanner, ultrasound equipment and IV pumps, providing the hospital’s medical team with additional tools for diagnostic and treatment services.

Hospital officials say the investment is particularly meaningful because members of the local community helped make it possible.

The Rural Hospital Investment Program allows individuals and businesses to direct tax dollars toward eligible rural hospitals and their needs. Hale County Hospital thanked local donors who chose to support the facility, along with Kirk Accounting Agency for educating clients about the opportunity and encouraging participation.

For a rural community, investments in equipment can also mean greater access to care without patients having to travel outside the area for certain services.

“Every contribution is an investment in stronger local healthcare and a healthier Hale County,” the hospital said in announcing the new equipment.

The hospital also shared photos of some of the equipment the funding is helping provide and thanked community members and businesses who participated in the program.

The $250,000 investment will help Hale County Hospital continue its effort to provide high-quality diagnostic and treatment services locally while strengthening healthcare resources available to residents throughout the area.
