The University of Alabama's annual A-Day is right around the corner, and Crimson Tide fans are as excited as ever about the spring tradition.


 

With the annual day approaching, many people still don't know exactly what A-Day is. Luckily, we've got some fun and useful facts about the University of Alabama's A-Day for you to check out.

This year, A-Day falls on April 13th and it's usually the 15th practice. It marks the final practice game allowed by the NCAA for the season.

A-Day is also a huge recruiting day for the University of Alabama football team. Top prospects will be visiting campus to get just a little taste of what Crimson Tide football is like in Tuscaloosa

The Walk of Fame is part of the A-Day tradition. It first began in 1948 when the UA football captains put their handprints in the cement around Denny Chimes on the famous Quad.

the only player from the Crimson Tide to have their nickname on a slab on the Walk of Fame is Ken Stabler. His slab reads "Ken Snake Stabler."

There will be some new handprints on the Walk of Fame after this year's A-Day. Jalen Milrow, Malachi Moore and Dallas Turner will all add their handprints this year.

The 2024 A-Day game will be the first for UA's new head football coach Kalen DeBoer.

A-Day started in the 1930s as a break from classes. Students would participate in competitions like strand and field events, baseball, boxing, and football.

The Million Dollar Band, high school students, and even Million Dollar Band Alumni play for the A-Day crowds.

The highest A-Day attendance happened in 2011. 92,310 fans poured into Bryant-Denny Stadium to watch the annual spring game. Alabama went on to win the National Championship that season.
