Tuscaloosa Dog Dies in Apartment Fire Sunday
Sunday, Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue responded to two separate apartment calls with reports of a structure fire. According to their Facebook page, one of the fires claimed the life of a dog.
Sunday morning TFR responded to a call at High County apartments with heavy smoke and a fire coming from a second-floor apartment.
"The apartment sustained heavy damage while two other units suffered smoke and water damage, Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue posted on their Facebook page.
"Unfortunately, one dog did not make it out of the fire and there were two burn victims transported to the hospital for treatment."
The second fire TFR responded to was later that afternoon at Cypress Creek Apartments.
"When units arrived on scene, smoke was seen coming from the second-story apartment," Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue said in a post on Facebook.
"All occupants had already evacuated the apartment upon arrival. Crews made entry and discovered that the fire was confined to the kitchen area. They quickly extinguished the fire, and fortunately, there were no injuries."
