Bailey said Knox was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 40-year-old woman traveling with him survived the accident and was transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital for treatment. Knox and the passenger were both from Prattville, Alabama, which is west of Montgomery.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
