An Athens, Alabama, man died on Monday morning when his motorcycle collided with a dump truck outside of Winfield in Marion County, the Alabama State Troopers report.

Senior Trooper Gregory Corble, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said the crash happened at about 5 a.m. Monday on Interstate 22.

Corble said 41-year-old Joshua Colvett, from Athens, Alabama, was driving a 2001 Yamaha Road Star motorcycle when it was struck by a 2025 Western Star Dump Truck being operated by a 23-year-old Mississippi man.

Colvett was thrown from his motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Corble said the two-vehicle crash happened about two miles north of Winfield in Marion County.
