A prominent group of demonstrators in West Alabama will mark their first anniversary in the area with a protest downtown at the end of March.

Indivisible is a progressive, grassroots movement that has organized marches and demonstrations across the country to decry President Donald Trump's second term in office.

They organized more than 2,700 No Kings rallies in two major waves last year, first in June and again in October, to oppose the administration's actions, which they call authoritarian.

Now Indivisible is planning a third wave of No Kings demonstrations all over America, and the West Alabama chapter will once again host a local protest here in Tuscaloosa

The local group turns one year old on March 20th, and on March 28th, they will host a rally at downtown Tuscaloosa's Government Plaza. The public park and the nearby Richard Shelby Federal Building & Courthouse were regular sites for their events last year.

Indivisible says they have more than 2,200 No Kings III demonstrations planned across all 50 states for March 28th.

Although the Visit Tuscaloosa Half Marathon is also planned for Government Plaza on March 28th, it begins at 7 a.m. and should be finished by noon. The demonstration is planned for 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. that day.

As always, a core tenet of the Indivisible rallies is nonviolence, and any participants or observers of the Tuscaloosa protest are urged to do so peacefully.
