Police have arrested a Tuscaloosa man accused of using social media platforms to sell child pornography, the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force announced Wednesday.

Phil Simpson, the unit's commander, said investigators working a tip from the Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in Tuscaloosa and arrested a 23-year-old man there.

Simpson said the suspect, Thomas Katrell Conner, is believed to have been selling child pornography.

Conner was charged with the dissemination of obscene material depicting persons under the age of 17 engaged in obscene acts. He was arrested Wednesday and booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where his bond is set at $30,000.

Simpson said Alabama ICAC Task Force and the Tuscaloosa Police Department’s Cyber Intelligence Unit assisted with this investigation, which is ongoing.
