Tuscaloosa Restaurant Open Again After Fire
The IHOP on Skyland Boulevard is open and serving the public, three months after a building fire.
The building caught blaze back in March. A Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue report from the time stated that there were no injuries.
The IHOP finally re-opened this past Thursday at full operating capacity.
Toccorie Thomas, the location manager, stated that the recovery process has been long, but said “We’ve had great people behind us to take care of everything.”
In addition to repairing the damage, Thomas said the location has also added a new after-hours food pick-up window. The window will remain open to 2 a.m., providing late-night eats to the community.
Thomas emphasized how important serving the community was to him. “To see guests come in happy, it makes me feel like we’re doing our job.”
Signs in the IHOP windows advertised that the business is looking for workers. Thomas said the hiring process has been going well.

Although they haven’t done any advertising for the re-opening, Thomas said word of mouth has been helping them a lot. “Business is doing well, guests are coming in.”
Thomas expressed how good it was to be open again. “There’s nothing like feeding the community. Everyone needs a good pancake.”
