JAY-Z used his recent Chicago stop on his 4:44 Tour to make amends with a few people. After snapping a picture before the show with his former mentor-turned-enemy Jaz-O, Hov also took time to shout out Kanye West.

After having his DJ play some of Yeezy's "Can't Tell Me Nothin'," Hov told the crowd, "Shout out Kanye West. Peace and love." The rapper added, "That was for you, Chi-town." Jay then gave a shoutout to Chicago's Chance The Rapper.

While the Kanye shoutout seemed like Jay showing love to a former friend, some concertgoers believe it may have been a slight dig after Hov had his DJ cut the song off right after Yeezy raps, "I feel the pressure under more scrutiny/And what'd I do?"

But it appears that Jay and Ye are in a better place than public belief. During a recent interview with the New York Times, JAY-Z revealed he had spoken with Kanye and the two still had respect for each other.

“I [talked to] Kanye the other day, just to tell him, like, he’s my brother," Jay said. "I love Kanye. I do. It’s a complicated relationship with us. [W]e’re both entertainers. It’s always been like a little underlying competition with your big brother. In the long relationship, you know, hopefully when we’re 89 we look at this six months or whatever time and we laugh at that.”
