Would you like to enjoy great music for a worthy cause? Your chance to do so is this weekend.

Each year, daughter of the late blues legend Johnny Shines,  Carroline Shines Edwards puts together “The Johnny Shines Blues Festival” to honor the memory of the guitarist who traveled the world performing before settling into his final home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The money raised in the festival goes towards a scholarship in Shines’ name.

This year’s event is being held at Band of Brothers Brewing Co. (1605 23rd Ave; Tuscaloosa, AL 35401) this Saturday, August 19th. According to the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, scheduled performers include Earl Williams, Sean-Bad-Apple and Kent DuChaine, TCHCU, Simple Interest, and Westlawn Middle School Choir.
