West Alabama Friday Heat Timeline: See Peak Hours and Feels Like Temps
It’s summer in the south, so hot temperatures and heat index values are expected.
James Spann, Alabama Weather Network Chief Meteorologist, said, “Get ready for the hottest weather so far this year over the weekend with afternoon highs in the low to mid 90s; the heat index will exceed 100 degrees with higher humidity levels.”

West Alabama residents should know that heat index values this weekend and even higher “feels like” temperatures are expected next week. So, if you think it’s hot now, wait, it gets hotter next week.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said to expect “several days of moderate to major heat risks.” They also encourage you to practice “heat safety if spending time outdoors.

While the day’s highest “feels like” temperature is important, the timing of those extreme conditions matters just as much. Here’s when the hottest part of the day is expected, along with the projected “feels like” temperatures from The Weather Channel. As always, I like to stress that developing weather conditions can change the expected temperatures.
