Labor Organizers Demand $15 Per Hour for Fast-Food Workers

Labor organizers are carrying out their biggest day of protests yet! For what are they asking?  Only $15 an hour and a union for fast-food and other low-wage workers.

This comes just two weeks after McDonald's announced a pay bump for workers at its company-owned stores.  Demonstrations are said to be taking place in more than 230 U.S. cities and college campuses, demanding more money for airport workers, Wal-Mart employees, and fast-food workers.

So, what do you think?  Is $15 an hour reasonable pay for workers? Would making such a demand cause the economy to buckle?  If you made less than $15 an hour, how would you handle your teen getting a job making more than you while living in your house? Or would a $15 an hour job knock teens out of the working force? Would more adults work fast-food? Would more want to work retail?
