Townsquare Media and Tuscaloosa’s very own Comedian Lamar “LP” Pullom has been honored with two nominations for the 12th Annual Alabama Music Awards.

Since its founding in 2012, the Alabama Music Awards (AMAs) has grown into a premier celebration of the state’s rich creative scene, honoring musicians, entertainers, and journalists who call Alabama home.

The annual event spotlights a wide range of genres, from jazz and blues to country, and features live performances, red carpet interviews, and award presentations that uplift and support the local creative community.

Comedian Lamar “LP” Pullom is a vital asset to the on-air personality lineup on 105.1 The Block. Weekdays, you can catch him co-starring with The Big Dawg DreDay in the morning from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and Mid-Days from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both shows continue to dominate the ratings; however, it’s the connection with the listeners that means the most to Pullom.

Comedian LP is nominated for Bama Content Creator of the Year and Bama Male Comedian of the Year. We would greatly appreciate your support during the voting process, which runs now through June 12.

When he learned of the nomination, he said he was both surprised and deeply grateful, admitting he never expected recognition in either category but felt truly honored and excited to be included.  He said that he has “been doing comedy for 11 years and to have that accolade simply to just be nominated proves that my work is not going unnoticed.”

Being nominated in the AMAs for Bama Content Creator of the Year and Bama Male Comedian of the Year are two distinctly different categories. “Creating content online is different from the stage because I create fictional situations that make your mind wander through hypothetical scenarios,” said Pullom. “With my stand-up comedy, it’s more intimate, because I draw from real-life experiences and turn those moments into humor.”

The creative side of Alabamians is at the core of the AMAs. Pullom feels that his comedy and content stem from Alabama’s cultural influences. Being from the Yellowhammer State, Pullom adds that his comedy is “honest storytelling” from real people and real situations. “At the end of the day, my comedy is Southern, raw, and relatable, because that’s how Alabama raised me.”
