Leadership Tuscaloosa Sets $50K Fundraising Goal for Project Warrior
The 2026 Class of Leadership Tuscaloosa Class will host two unique fundraising events in support of the class’s $50,000 fundraising goal to benefit Project Warrior. This is a collaborative initiative that celebrates Tuscaloosa’s Native American heritage and honors the legacy of Chief Tuskaloosa.

“Project Warrior is a collaborative initiative involving the City of Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, The University of Alabama, Visit Tuscaloosa, and the Alabama Tourism Department,” said the press release.
The project will establish a permanent educational and cultural landmark along Tuscaloosa’s downtown riverfront. Plans include a bronze statue of Chief Tuskaloosa created by sculptor Caleb O’Connor. Also, there will be an educational plaza with interpretive storyboards that share the area’s rich history.
First Event Info
The first fundraiser, a benefit night, will take place on Tuesday, February 24, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Session Cocktails. Admission is $10 at the door, and guests will have a chance to win door prizes.
Second Event Details
The second fundraiser, a drawdown-style dinner, will be held Saturday, March 28, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Tuscaloosa River Market. The evening will feature the drawdown, a silent auction dinner, live entertainment, and fellowship opportunities.
