Light up Tuscaloosa, 2021 Relay For Life
Friday night, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Tuscaloosa County lit up Tuscaloosa in the spirit of fighting against cancer. 92.9 WTUG, Praise 93.3, and 105.1 The Block enjoyed seeing everyone at the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center at DCH Regional Medical Center.
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life combines so many people that join together to fight against cancer. I have been at various Relay for Life events with current cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and participants. It’s a special time.
Tanya Winstead, the Event Co-Chair, said that they “envision a future where we no longer live with the threat of cancer. Unfortunately, that future is at risk, and there is a mission urgency since COVID-19 forced the postponement of fundraising activities this past year. We want you to help us give hope the advantage for the future to be cancer-free.”
