TORNADO WATCH

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Tornado Watch. This impacts several Alabama counties.

At 12:21 p.m., the NWS removed Greene, Hale, and Sumter counties from the watch area.

At 1:02 p.m., the NWS removed Perry County from the watch area.

The Tornado Watch is in effect until Thursday, June 18, at 5 p.m.

Remember, a tornado watch means that weather conditions are favorable for tornado development. This also serves as an alert to stay weather-aware. Think of a tornado watch as being prepared.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10:30 AM CDT FOR WESTERN CHILTON AND SOUTHEASTERN BIBB COUNTIES.

At 10:11 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Lawley, or 15 miles southwest of Jemison, moving north at 40 mph.

HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE: Radar indicated.

IMPACT: Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
