The Rho Gamma, Beta Eta, Alpha Delta Iota, and Alpha Tau Chapters of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. represent Stillman College, The University of Alabama, the University of West Alabama, and the counties of West Alabama are hosting the annual Talent Hunt.

These fraternities have joined together to help support talent within our local high school students. The Annual Talent Hunt will be on October 8, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at the Cordell Wynn Center on the campus of Stillman College with free admission.

Since 1953, Talent Hunt has been an esteemed international program aiming to recognize and nurture students with exceptional talents in the performing arts. Winners of the Talent Hunt will be invited to the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. state-level competition.

“This is an opportunity to spotlight and elevate the rich tapestry of talent in West Alabama. The men of Omega are looking forward to an enchanting evening of artistic celebration,” said Gregory Eubanks, Talent Hunt Co-Chair.

The evening will showcase various categories like music with vocals or instruments, interpretive movement to music, speech, and visual arts.


Students will represent Sumter, Hale, Greene, Pickens, and Tuscaloosa counties. An award will be given to the winners who place first, second, and third. Additionally, all participants will receive recognition for their commendable efforts.

For students interested in the program, the application deadline is Friday, September 29. Prizes included 1st Place: $1000, 2nd Place: $500, and 3rd Place: $250. Click here for more details.

2023-2023 Rising Star Character Students of the Month

During the 2022-2023 school year, Tuscaloosa City Schools, along with Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa, Legal Services of Alabama and Child Abuse Prevention Services, will highlight Rising Star Character Students of the Month from each school in the district, highlighting two to three students each month.
