The LSU Tigers have had a tumultuous time in 2020 defending its 2019 college football national championship. The Tigers have dealt with multiple COVID-19 outbreaks in the program, extreme turnover in the roster and the coaching staff and several injuries, creating complications and making success hard to come by for Coach Ed Orgeron's Tigers.

The latest blow to the Tigers' season comes in the form of another athlete opting out of the 2020 season. Junior receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. has left the LSU program and will not play the remainder of this season.

Marshall has led the Tigers in receiving this year and is the second prominent receiver to opt out for the Tigers this season after Ja'Marr Chase chose not to take part in this season at all.

Marshall has hauled in 48 receptions for 731 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. In his career he has helped the Tiger offense with 106 receptions for 1,594 yards and 23 touchdowns.

He enrolled at LSU as a 5-star prospect from Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana. 247 Sports considered Marshall the No. 1 recruit in the state of Louisiana in the class of 2018.

In addition to Marshall's departure from the program, the Tigers will also be without senior receiver Racey McMath due to injury. McMath missed the Texas A&M game last weekend and will likely miss this coming game with the Crimson Tide as well. McMath is reponsible for 14 catches for 195 yards and one touchdown in 2020.

Freshman tight end Arik Gilbert now enters the Alabama as the Tigers' most productive pass catcher in this strange year. Gilbert has impressed in his first season in the SEC with 30 receptions for 339 yards and two touchdowns this season.
