March 14 is Pi Day; Restaurants Offer Deals on Pizza and Pie
If pizza with breadsticks is your thing, Pi Day is your day!
Of course, you probably have to be a math geek to know exactly what Pi Day is (kinda like you have to be at least slightly acquainted with the marijuana life to know anything about 4/20). But remember when you were in school and used Pi (3.14) while determining the value of a circle’s circumference? Well, March 14 (or 3.14) is now observed as Pi Day.
What does this have to do with pizza?
Nothing, directly.
But many pie and pizza companies use the play on words to their advantage. As both pizzas and dessert pies are traditionally circular and also called pies, many companies serving pizzas and pies have specials on Pi Day.
One such restaurant in Tuscaloosa is Hungry Howie’s. HH is offering a pizza for $3.14 with the purchase of any Howie Bread at regular price. HH is not the most costly pizza as is. So, purchasing a bread at regular price and then getting a three buck pizza… Winning all the way!

(Side note: Wednesday is also free pie day at O’Charley’s every day so falling on Pi Day is coincidental yet befitting.)
