Risk Areas

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has expanded the marginal risk area to include more counties in the Townsquare Media coverage areas. This includes all of Fayette and Lamar Counties, nearly all of Pickens County, and a portion of Tuscaloosa County.

Timing

The current timing provided by the National Weather Service in Birmingham is between Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Thursday at 1 a.m.

Threats

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said that “the main threat will come from strong, gusty winds tonight across Northwest Alabama... the tornado threat is very low as the main dynamic support will be passing well to the north.”
