With the alarming jump in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in Tuscaloosa in the past week alone, it comes by no surprise that there is a deep concern for where we are headed.

According to Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox, conversations will be held with Dr. Wilson and Dr. White from the DCH Health System. This town hall will begin at 1:00 p.m.

It was released that DCH saw the number of cases nearly double between May 20 and May 25.

DCH has been doing a phenomenal job of keeping the public abreast of COVID-19 statistics, testing numbers, and more with a daily in-depth analysis.

Unfortunately, even with the information that's readily available, we aren't doing enough to protect ourselves and our loved ones.  This is especially alarming as it has been stated that some people carry the virus without symptoms.  Yet, when it's passed to others, those people could be deeply affected by the virus, even unto death.

So, we have a duty to gain as much knowledge as possible and to apply what we know to keep ourselves as safe as possible and to not overwhelm our local medical facilities, where people with other ailments seek help as well.

Be sure to join the mayor and health officials for the virtual town hall today at 1:00p.m.
