Miguel has returned with a new video, "Told You So," ahead of the release of his upcoming album, War & Leisure.

The video starts off with Miguel arriving in what looks like a California desert, dirty and tired. A few other people are in the station wagon with him, looking just as world weary as he does. After the singer hops out, he starts dancing around, almost as if he's seeking freedom through his movements, or releasing some tension while he waits for impending doom. The shots of Miguel dancing are interspersed with images of protests rallies against Donald Trump, footage from Civil Rights protests and missile launches. The video ends with a fiery satellite falling from the sky right in front of their station wagon, possibly indicating whatever situation they've tried to outrun has caught up with them.

The political nature of the video isn't surprising. In a recent interview with The Guardian, Miguel said that his new album is inspired by Trump and the ever-present threat of nuclear war.

“You see us on the brink of nuclear war over Twitter,” he said. “Or the rise of the far right in Germany and France. So my whole mindset for the album is: what are we supposed to do caught in the middle of this? We’re at the brink of complete war and complete pleasure, at all times, every day.”

Miguel has also recently released the songs "Shockandawe" and "Sky Walker" featuring Travis Scott from War & Leisure. The album is due out Dec. 1. Watch the video above.
