You always hear about fatal multiple car collisions, but I have never heard of a multiple plane collision. I have heard of near plane collisions on the runways at airports, I have never heard of two planes colliding in mid-air until now.

Sunday morning about 15 miles southeast of downtown San Diego around 11 a.m. a single engine Cessna 172 collided with a twin-engine Sabreliner two miles from Brown Field Airport in San Diego County according to a spokesman for the San Diego Fire – Rescue Department.

This collision claimed the lives of four people and debris from the collision landed in a field causing a 2 acre brush fire that was put out by firefighters who responded to scene, according to Schuller.
