Former Crimson Tide running back Najee Harris was a standout in his time at Alabama, showing off an elite blend of size and athleticism, and is now going into this year's draft as a projected late first round pick by many.

Harris stopped by ESPN to share some stories of his playing days at Alabama with Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman on First Take, praising the level of competition he faced daily.

"The competition level in practice was almost greater than the game," Harris said, "Because you're going against all these guys who are future first rounders ... Just me being at practice was almost as hard as a game because I'm having to go up against all these guys."

Harris joined the Tide in 2017 in a class that featured five other fellow five-stars in Dylan Moses, Alex Leatherwood, Jerry Jeudy, Tua Tagovailoa and LaBryan Ray, with Jeudy and Tagovailoa being selected in the first round of last year's draft.

In his four years, Harris became the all-time rushing yards leader for the Crimson Tide with 3,843 and also set the SEC total touchdown record for one season, scoring 30 in 2020 and breaking Derrick Henry's former record of 28. Undoubtedly one of the greatest running backs to ever come through Tuscaloosa, Harris is primed to have an excellent NFL career with his skillset.

Where he will end up playing his professional ball will have to be decided next week, but Harris' skillset and clear drive to compete should carry him far in the league.
