National Voter Registration Day

Today is National Voter Registration Day!  This holiday takes place on the fourth Tuesday of every September intending to bring attention to the importance of registering to vote.  It also encourages us all to make sure that we are registered to vote for any upcoming elections.

According to the Alabama Secretary of State Online Services, in Alabama “for any election, the last day to register to vote or update your voter registration is the 15th day prior to the election.”

You can even register to vote online as well!

I have been registered to vote since my first opportunity to do so, and I have voted in every election possible.  I do realize that not everyone is “into” voting or the process of voting like me.  My family was pretty passionate about exercising your right to vote.  However, today I will take the opportunity to register to vote in the state of Alabama.  Now is a great time to make sure you are registered or update any information.
