The former Dickey's location at Midtown Village is getting renovated and ready to open back up as a new wing restaurant.

Signs out front and in the window show that a Wingstop is going to open its first location in Tuscaloosa. The popular wing joint has restaurants in 43 different states and this will be the fifth in Alabama. The other four are spread across the state in Fort Payne, Mobile, Montgomery, and Valley.

The chain first opened in 1997 with one location in Garland, Texas and have since opened more than 1,000 locations around the world.

Wingstop will go into the space next to Ulta in Midtown Village, which had been a Dickey's BBQ until it closed last year. There's no set date on when it's going to open but there's progress being made on the construction inside the building.
