One Dead, One in Custody After Shooting in Tuscaloosa
A man was shot killed in Tuscaloosa Wednesday afternoon and police have a suspect in custody.
Captain Kip Hart, the assistant commander of the Tuscaloosa County Violent Crimes Unit, said police were called to 2700 Kaulton Road around 3 p.m. where they found a man had been killed in a shooting.
Hart said investigators have a suspect in custody but did not immediately release more details.

UPDATE: Police say the killing may have been self-defense, and the suspect was released from custody without being charged Wednesday. A grand jury or judge may choose to charge him later.
