Over 180 Jobs Available in IAC’s Newest Alabama Investment

Gov. Kay Ivey announced the creation of 182 jobs after International Automotive Components Group North America, Inc. (IAC) said it would invest over $55 million into two of its Alabama facilities.

According to a Monday press release, IAC is planning to split the investment into two manufacturing facilities: one in Cottondale and the other at Ft. McClellan in Anniston.

"International Automotive Components is a leading global auto supplier, and I am pleased that this world-class company is growing significantly in Alabama and creating good jobs in Cottondale and Anniston," Ivey said in a Monday press release. "IAC’s growth plans show that Alabama’s dynamic auto industry continues to expand despite today’s challenging environment."

The Luxembourg-based company is a global manufacturer of automotive parts such as instrument panels, door panels and consoles. IAC is committing $34.3 million to expand the manufacturing plant in Cottondale, creating 119 new jobs.

"International Automotive Components is a valued part of Tuscaloosa County’s automotive sector,” Executive Director of the Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority Danielle Winningham said in the release. “We are grateful for IAC’s investment in our community and the career opportunities available to our area workforce as a result of their investment."

According to the press release, the plant in Anniston will receive its first upgrade since 2014, where the facility doubled in size. The $21.6 million upgrade will create 63 new jobs.

"Alabama was the logical choice due to its skilled workforce and proximity to the customer,” IAC Executive Vice President and President of IAC North America Nick Skwiat said in the release. “We are excited to see the continued growth of the automotive industry in Alabama and we plan to grow right along with it. We thank the Governor and Secretary [of Commerce Greg] Canfield for their leadership in this sector."
