Alabama offensive line coach Kyle Flood is departing to take the offensive coordinator job at the University of Texas, leaving a vacancy on the Alabama coaching staff. Nick Saban is apparently moving quickly to fill the position and according to Bruce Feldmen of The Athletic, Saban will likely hire Philadelphia Eagles OL coach Jeff Stoutland to fill the vacancy.

Soutland has been coaching the offensive line for 18 years in the college and professional ranks. He has prior ties to Saban and Alabama having served as offensive line coach at the Capstone for two seasons from 2011-12.

While coaching at Alabama, he helped the Tide win consecutive national championships over LSU in 2011 and Notre Dame in 2012. He helped develop D.J. Fluker, Chance Warmack, Barrett Jones, Cyrus Kouandjio and several others during his time in Tuscaloosa.

After departing from Alabama he joined the Philadelphia Eagles as offensive line coach. He helped the Eagles win the franchise's first Super Bowl in 2017 by defeating the New England Patriots. The Eagles rushed for 164 yards and gave up zero sacks in the Super Bowl. During his tenure in Philadelphia he produced seven First Team All-Pro offensive lineman.

Stoutland will have no shortage of talent to work with in Tuscaloosa as the Tide boasts highly ranked recruits all along the offensive line and is bringing in one of the best offensive line classes of all time in the 2021 class.
