During June, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, with the Build Our Economic Wealth Initiative, hosts “Black Dollar Days.” This is where the sorority encourages its members to “Wear Pink, Spend Green, and Buy Black” on Fridays by spending at least $19.08 at a Black-owned business.

In Tuscaloosa County, the Eta Xi Omega Chapter is showcasing economic power by holding a ‘Wear Pink, Spend Green, Buy Black’ vendor fair on Saturday, June 13, from Noon to 3 p.m. at Stillman College at the Wynn Center located at 3601 Stillman Boulevard.

It is free to attend and open to the public. 

"Supporting Black-owned businesses is one of the most powerful ways we can strengthen our communities and create lasting economic impact," said Althenia Morrow Tate, president of Eta Xi Omega Chapter. "Our 'Wear Pink, Spend Green, Buy Black' Vendor Fair is an opportunity for residents to connect with local entrepreneurs, discover unique products and services, and invest directly in the success of businesses that help our community thrive.”

This June, we’re building on that legacy with a goal of spending $8 million more,” said the Facebook post.
