Social Media Is Calling “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” Racist?!
"A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" aired, I believe last week for the 46th time since it debuted in 1973. This year, a lot more people noticed what some noticed years ago. Or, it could just be that with social media, we can speak to thousands in a matter of minutes.
This year, people noticed that during the dinner scene, Franklin, the black character, is sitting by himself on one side of the table, while the other characters are sitting together opposite him.
One person on Twitter noticed it, spoke out and the rest of Twitter had a lot to say about it!
Now here's a little history about Franklin, that a lot of us didn't know. This may change how you initially felt!
Franklin exists is because "Peanuts" creator CHARLES M. SCHULZ purposely added Franklin to the group back in 1968, after the assassination of MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. He even threatened to QUIT when his publisher questioned the decision.
