Surveillance Video of Tuscaloosa Bus Aide Assault Released

Earlier this week, a Tuscaloosa man was arrested after assaulting a Tuscaloosa City Schools bus aide. On Friday, the surveillance video from that incident was released.

The footage came from inside the bus and does contain violence so watch with discretion.

Tuscaloosa police identified the assailant as Michael Ryan Simmons, 24, and he was arrested on charges of assault in the second degree. Bond was set at $10,000.

According to someone with the school system, the driver made a normal bus stop when Simmons returned with a family member and attacked the bus aide. As you can see in the video above, that aide was struck multiple times in the head as he sat in his seat.
