I know, it's another shark story. It doesn't make it any less scary. Plus, I'm going to Florida this weekend. In this case it happened in Daytona Beach, Florida. Drones are good for business, and a drone captured this video below.
We love our local businesses, especially our local eateries. Recently, I wrote a story on local restaurants (as well as others across Alabama) and the latest scores from the Health Department. Many restaurants were mentioned, but The Blue Plate in Northport got the most attention.
One positive for the restaurant industry of Alabama and West Alabama, only a few places made the list this time. So, that's a good thing. The recent Summer 2022 health department ratings/scores mention several establishments I have frequented in West Alabama.
I know, you are thinking "only in alabama". It crossed my mind as well, but, it's a fact. A family in Alabama came outside only to find a hog going for a swim in their pool. I know we have feral hogs in Alabama, but this looks much bigger to me.
HOWEVER, AUBURN IS RATED MUCH HIGHER THAN TUSCALOOSA West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State and Florida State all rated much higher is one I can't really argue. I haven't been to every college city in the USA. But, I have been to Auburn.and it is laughable to put them on Tier 3, with Tuscaloosa on Tier 5. Which is one of the lowest tiers.
I know, PLEASE, I know they keep us from being overun by other insect populations. It doesn't make me any happier when I find one of these at my home in Northport, Alabama.
This beast was just hanging out, looking at me. I think he was big enough for children to ride.
As a father of two little girls (they will always be little to me) this story is as scary as it gets. Authorities in Alabama are calling a 12-year-old girl a hero, and we all should do the same. Kidnapped and being held for a week, against her will.
