The Alabama Crimson Tide Takes Over The SEC Network Today
Looking for something to do on a holiday weekend? Feeling like spending time on the couch? Missing the Crimson Tide over the summer? The SEC Network has Alabama fans covered today highlighting a historic athletic season in the 2020-21 academic year. The Crimson Tide won five SEC championships in four sports football, men's basketball, gymnastics and softball.
Alabama's takeover started at midnight eastern time with the Tide's blowout victory over Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl. The night went on with the SEC Storied documentary "In Search of Derrick Thomas" and then concluded with the Alabama A-Day game which the White team won 13-10 over the Crimson team.
Championship action will be on the SEC Network from 11 a.m. CT through the remainder of the day. Fans can relive all of Alabama's championship games from the past academic year. The Tide will defeat Florida in the 2020 SEC Championship first, then take on all comers, winning the SEC gymnastics championship. The Crimson Tide will then knock off LSU for its first SEC tournament championship since 2002.
The SEC Network will then take you right to the Rhoads House where Alabama took down Florida in the SEC Championship game. Montana Fouts completed a historic weekend which she broke the SEC Tournament record for most strikeouts in a tournament. Fouts won SEC Tournament MVP while mowing down 39 batters in the weekend.
Cap off your evening at 8 p.m. CT with a replay of the Alabama Crimson Tide's 18th national championship. Alabama will burry Ohio State 52-24 to cap off its undefeated season and win coach Nick Saban's seventh total national championship.
