According to Tuscaloosa Police, the Tuscaloosa Teachers Credit Union on 69 S was robbed yesterday afternoon. The suspect is said to have demanded money from the cashier and to have made threats, but no weapon was seen during the robbery. He left the location on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. A tip leading to an arrest will yield a cash reward.

Former Birmingham police officer Curtis Thornton has been found guilty in a series of arsons at more than a dozen vacant buildings. His sentencing is scheduled for July 25.

An outdoor deck at a Miami-area sports bar has collapsed, sending dozens of patrons into shallow waters. Fire officials say divers have been searching waters underneath the deck to make sure no one is trapped.
