What's the weirdest thing you've seen in the yellowhammer state? How about a huge office chair.

Alabama is known for a few things. Having the number 1 college football team, dope residents, and good food are just a few things. Did you know that Alabama is home to the world's largest office chair?

I was shocked to even find out that this was even a thing. Even more shocked to see that Alabama held the record for World's Largest Office Chair. This massive chair can be found less than 2 hours away from Tuscaloosa in Anniston, Alabama.

According to Roadside America, the chair belongs to Miller's Office Supply. In 1981, Miller's Office Supply in Anniston, Alabama, wanted to call attention to itself. Owner Leonard "Sonny" Miller had an inspired idea: he would build the world's largest chair in the vacant lot next to his building. Since he sold office furniture, he used an office chair as the model, simply converting inches into feet.

The result still stands today: a chair 33 feet tall with a 15-foot-square seat, built out of ten tons of steel (Sonny also had a steel company), anchored in 15 tons of cement.

Could you imagine sitting in that massive chair? I'd just love to snag a picture under it. If seeing big chairs is your thing and you're down to take a road trip, there's more across the south. There's a big chair in a few states across the south like North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi.
