This App Could Help You Find a Parking Spot for Homecoming

Six friends from our area have created a new app to help you find property owners near Bryant-Denny Stadium with parking spots that you can rent for football games.

The app is called SpotMine and got it's start in Tuscaloosa, led by Mark Hume who studied at the University of Alabama.  It matches property owners who can list spots on their driveways, front lawns and extra garage spaces. If you're looking for a parking space you can check out the app that takes you to a screen that offers parking spaces based on distance or price. Once you select a space, the app shows you a Google map of the location and brief details.  You can then reserve the spot with a credit card. You'll get a bar code on the app which is verified by the seller when you arrive on game day.  Prices for parking spaces run from $5 to $50.

Hume told AL.com that right now the app is only available for the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia, with plans to expand into the 14 SEC schools for college game day parking.
