Most people generally honor their grandmothers and grandfathers in addition to their parents on Mother's Day and Father's Day, but did you know that there's actually a day set aside to honor grandparents each year?

Grandparents Day this year is Sunday, September 13!

Now, we know you'd love to honor your grandparents, the hard work they performed, the sacrifices they made, etc. So, here's what you need to do:

Use a voice recorder on your phone to create your tribute.  Please include your name, where you're from, and who you'd like to honor.  You may also state what makes them special.  If it's a person who is no longer living, it's ok to honor their memory as well.

Upload your recording on the station app by clicking "Submit Photo/Video" and filling out the following page.

Now, of course if you'd prefer, we can call you to record your tribute. Just send a message with your contact information using the Chat feature on your WTUG app.

If you're the gift giving type, and you look for the perfect opportunity to show people you loved them, grandparents love to know you've thought about them. Most of the time, just a phone call will do.  However, if you like tangible giving, here's a small guide on what gifts are great, and what gifts probably aren't the best ideas.

Do's and Don'ts of Grandparent Gifting

These are just a few things to keep in mind, but if you really want to give the ultimate gift, your time is one they'll value more than just about anything else....

Unless you give a robotic vacuum.  All older people wish they had help with cleaning. A robotic vacuum will certainly decrease the time they're on their feet.
