Yesterday, ESPN's Staff Writer Bill Connelly published an article on college football's 50 greatest wide receivers of the past 50 years.

Guys like Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs, and Jaylen Waddle are some of the more recent high-round draft picks at wide receiver from Alabama. Interestingly enough, the person most people would hold responsible for the pipeline of great Alabama receivers, Julio Jones, was actually kept off of this list.

Last year's Heisman winner and new Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Devonta Smith landed on the list at No. 3 only behind Larry Fitzgerald and Randy Moss, two of college football's and NFL's greatest receivers. Connelly wrote that Smith had a "perfect career" at Bama winning a national title as a freshman, making one of the greatest plays in college football history and winning another as as senior along with winning the Heisman Trophy to cap off the arguably the greatest season by a Alabama player. Smith had 235 career catches, 3,965 receiving yards and 46 touchdowns.

Another Bama receiver to make this list is current Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper who was ranked as No. 25. Cooper finished his career at Alabama with 228 receptions for 3,463 yards, and 31 touchdowns. As a junior in his final season at Bama, Cooper nearly matched his career production up to that point with 1,727 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns.

The final receiver to land on the list from Alabama is current Baltimore Ravens general manager and Hall of Famer Ozzie Newsome who came in at No. 39. His position listing has caused some debate as he was a tight end in the NFL and was one of the best at the position during his career. As a wide receiver at Bama in his junior and senior seasons, Newsome finished his career with 102 catches, 2,070 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns.
