Three Death’s Linked To Blue Bell Ice Cream
After three deaths were linked to Blue Bell ice cream, Blue Bell announced they will be temporary closing its production plant in Oklahoma and Sam’s Club, H-E-B and Kroger have decided to stop selling Blue Bell products.
The three deaths were linked to Blue Bell ice cream contaminated with Listeriosis that was traced back to the Oklahoma plant. This prompted the first recall in Blue Bell’s 108-year company history.
According to the CDC Listeriosis also known as listeria, is a life threatening infection caused by eating food contaminated with bacteria called Listeria monocytogenes. The disease primarily affects pregnant women, newborns, older adults and people with weakened immune systems.
