Trey Songz is going back to court again. The R&B singer is being sued by a police sergeant and a photographer over a December 2016 incident.

According to Detroit News, Sgt. Robert Avery and photographer Andrew Potter filed a lawsuit on Monday (June 4) in federal court claiming Songz assaulted them, hurled racist insults and made an obscene gesture during his booking photo. The lawsuit stems from a December 2016 incident where he destroyed property during his concert at the Joe Louis Arena.

In Avery and Potter’s suit, they claim that Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, threw a microphone stand that hit Potter in the head and landed a punch to Avery’s face during a backstage scuffle.

They also alleged that Songz was yelling expletives like “f--- all you honkeys,” “you cracker white motherf---er!” and “f--- all you honkeys and f--- the police!” during the melee.

Authorities say that Songz was upset that his performance was cut short and his microphone was turned off. During the scuffle backstage, Avery claims the singer fell on top of him causing his head to strike the concrete and injure his hip.

As for the mugshot, Songz wasn’t being cooperative and flashed his middle finger at the camera (see photo above).

Eventually, Songz pleaded guilty to two counts of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 18 months of probation. As part of his plea agreement, the singer has to undergo drug and alcohol testing and attend anger management classes.

Meanwhile, Avery and Potter are suing for assault and battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. They are seeking $75,000 in damages.

Attorneys for Trey Songz had no comment on the matter.
