Tuscaloosa, Alabama SCLC Announces MLK Celebration, March, Rally
The Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) is a civil rights organization that was founded in 1957 by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Bayard Rustin, Ralph Abernathy, Fred Shuttlesworth, and others.” This was an effort to have a regional organization that could better coordinate civil rights protest activities across the South,” according to the National Park Service.
According to the press release from the Tuscaloosa Chapter of the SCLC, they are inviting everyone to “come out and help celebrate the life, legacy, and birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”

The Unity Breakfast at Beulah Baptist Church
The church is located at 3100 25th St, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401
Rev. Dr. Vernon Swift will be the guest speaker
Rev. Dr. Belinda B. Wilson will provide the music
Noon
The Unity March
The Unity March will begin at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School and end at City Hall. Everyone participating in the parade is asked to be at MLK Elementary by 11:30 a.m.

5 p.m.
The Mass Rally
The Mass Rally will be held at First African Baptist Church
The church is located at 2621 Stillman Blvd, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401
Rev. Deanna Williams Cleveland of Atlanta, GA will be the guest speaker
The Men of Prayze of Tuscaloosa will provide the music
