Tuscaloosa Public Library Bookstore Sales Top $100,000 for 4th Year
Great news for the Friends of the Tuscaloosa Public Library (FOTPL). For the fourth consecutive year, they recorded more than $100,000 in annual bookstore sales, bringing in $102,298 during the 2025–26 fiscal year. This news marks a remarkable run of success for the organization.
According to the press release, “The Friends exceeded $100,000 in bookstore sales each of the past four years starting in 2022–23 and has generated more than $1 million in support of the Tuscaloosa Public Library over the past dozen years.”
Revenue generated by the FOTPL Bookstore directly benefits the Tuscaloosa Public Library, helping sustain programs, expand resources, and support initiatives that make a lasting impact on residents.
“We are so very proud of what the Friends of the Library, our volunteers, and our community have accomplished together,” Bess Miller, chair of the FOTPL Board of Directors, said. “Surpassing $100,000 in bookstore sales for four consecutive years is a tremendous milestone, but what makes us most proud is the incredible community effort behind it.”
Supported by a team of dedicated volunteers, the FOTPL Bookstore is the organization’s primary fundraising source, generating vital support for the Tuscaloosa Public Library and its mission.

Miller said their “volunteers give so generously of their time, our donors continue to fill our shelves with wonderful treasures, and our customers keep coming back to support the library. We are so grateful to everyone who plays a part in making the bookstore such a special part of our community and in helping us support the Tuscaloosa Public Library.”
During the past 10 years, the FOTPL has provided the Tuscaloosa Public Library with an average of $92,000 in annual financial support.
