The Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) - Tuscaloosa County Chapter Executive Board will host three events on Monday, January 19, in observance of its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Day.

Each event honors Dr. King’s enduring legacy while bringing the community together to reflect on unity, service, and continued progress.

2026 SCLC of Tuscaloosa County Hosts MLK Unity Day Events

MLK Unity Day Breakfast

The day will begin with the MLK Unity Day Breakfast at 8 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church, located at 3100 25th Street in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

VIP tables are available for $250.00, while general seating tickets are $25.00. Tables are limited. If you are interested in tickets, they are available from members of the SCLC – Tuscaloosa County Chapter.

MLK Unity March

The annual MLK Unity March will begin at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, located at 2430 Martin Luther King Blvd, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401, and travel to Tuscaloosa City Hall. Participants are encouraged to line up in front of the school at 11:30 a.m.

The march is designed to honor Dr. King's legacy while fostering unity and collective purpose throughout the community.

Mass Rally

The mass rally is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the historic First African Baptist Church located at 2621 Stillman Blvd, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
